The CEO Luc Pettett closed the deal for an undisclosed amount of money in October 2016. Luc says that Punters.com.au will continue to operate as normal even under the new ownership of News Corp.

News Corp purchased Punters.com.au in a commitment to the $6 billion racing industry and it’s sports portfolio.

With a reported $5 million in turnover for the year of 2015, Punters.com.au has grown by more than 205% on average over the past 3 years.

Luc Pettett comes from a background in computers having been a software developer for Microsoft in the UK.

It also looks as though Luc will stay on as chief executive for now.

Punters.com.au was founded in 2008 and quickly grew to have a large following amongst the punters and tipsters.  They regularly hold monthly competitions for tipsters as well as seasonal competitions such as Group 1 competitions around Melbourne Cup and different horse racing carnivals throughout the year.

Earnings are made through various deals that have been made with bookmakers through affiliate offers, tipster sales etc.  The site has an alexa ranking of approximately 82,000 and while some say that alexa rankings don’t mean a great deal, any site that is under 100,000 in alexa is getting a lot of traffic!
